Louie's   

This restaurant, most famous for its smoky bar and the famous locals seen here, has an eclectic menu of some surprisingly strong dishes. The most popular item by far at Louie's is the crispy, thin crust pizza -- a truly delicious gourmet-style concoction that has a loyal following. The wide variety of cuisine in this laid-back eatery includes everything from pasta dishes to burgers and fries. You'll also find sandwiches, a nice selection of salads and a few seafood dishes, including Mexican shrimp. Although hard to classify, Louie's is just a good, old-fashioned neighborhood restaurant with dishes to please most any taste. They also have one of the most famous bars in Dallas, long known as a haunt for local media types and perfect for after dinner drinks. -- Bradley Harding
